Rhena Miller
Therapy and Counseling ServicesWelcome to My Practice
A safe supportive space for you
We are all born with our own unique strengths that can be called upon to help us grow and develop to our own highest good. Since 1987, it has been my privilege to work with others as they reconnect to their personal resources.
As your therapist, I offer you presence that is non-judgmental, caring and compassionate. Everyone deserves to have someone who is fully present with them. I am an insightful listener, and will meet you where you are at, in whatever moment you are in.
Please contact me if you have questions about counseling, or to make an initial appointment. I offer sessions in Spanish as well.
Ofrezco sesiones en Español también.

About Rhena
I have lived on both US coasts, in Europe, and have traveled extensively in developing countries. This serves me to relate authentically with people of many classes and cultures.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston College, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington in Seattle. I have also studied in Spain, at the University of Madrid and the University of Salamanca.
I value the practice of mindfulness and yoga in relationship to all aspects of one’s life: emotional physical, and spiritual. I believe that individuals have the ability to heal on many levels as they build their conscious awareness. From the healing benefits that I have both experienced and witnessed, I decided to pursue a career in psychotherapy.

My Office
Therapy Approach
The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Model, ACT, is my primary approach. This is an evidence-based, balanced blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Mindfulness Practice.
ACT theory acknowledges that suffering is a natural factor in the human experience. This mindful approach empowers individuals to increase their awareness of painful/unpleasant thoughts and feelings, without the need to engage in a fruitless struggle with them.
We are unable to change the past. With support, each individual can develop the compassionate practice of accepting themselves and their history. This therapeutic approach guides individuals
to live meaningful lives linked to their values
Together, we will team to create a flexible practice that will transform challenges and pain from obstacles into stepping-stones and allow you to move forward to realize your goals and aspirations.
